Yeah! Examinations are over!

Yeah! SA1 is over. It is time to rest and recharge for more interesting topics and knowledge going to be learnt starting from week 10.

To those who have done well, keep it up and do not be complacent! You deserve to rest for 3 days! :)

To those who have not done well, keep trying to strive for better results. Ask questions if necessary.

To those who have not done their best, do your best from now on. You can do it!

Someone came to ask me if seahorses lay eggs. I told him that seahorses give birth but he was not convinced. To be exact, the female lay many eggs into the male's pouch. The male seahorse then gives birth. The male seahorse is indeed a wonderful father.

Here is a video showing how seahorses give birth.

PS: Do not scream. This is the beauty of Science.

More information about seahorses.

Starch or no starch?

I had fun observing the class doing the experiment using iodine.

1. Select a war hero.

2. Source for information
  • Historical background or data
  • The sacrifices of the war hero
  • The qualities of the war hero
  • Life as POW
  • puppet-making

3. Present the war hero by using puppet.

4. Present within the allocated time of 5 minutes.

You may present your war hero (puppet) with the use of a song, skit or power point slides.

Let's put on our creative hats. Enjoy!:)

PS: Your puppet can be a finger puppet or hand puppet. You may bring your materials to discuss on Wednesday during our SS lesson.

Attitude Rocks!

We always emphasize that good behaviour is the key to success. In order to behave well, you have to make sure that your attitude is positive. Good positive attitude enables us to succeed in many areas, be it in studies, sports or ambition.

To all my pupils, keep up the good positive attitude! You can achieve anything if you have a positive attitude.

Satellites phones vs normal phones (Science, Primary 5)

We have learnt the use of satellites in Unit 1. However, we were confused about using public phones to contact our friend located at another part of the same country. Actually, if we are calling our friends within the country, our phones are linked to telephones lines and cables. Satellites are not used here.
When we travel to Malaysia, our mobile phones will have the 'auto-roaming' service. Yes, our mobile phones act as satellites phones.
Find out more about how telephone works and how satellite phones works.PS: Look out for the interesting animation.

I was impressed with the GPS, the device that makes use of the satellite to locate the position of our family vehicle. It helps me to get from one location to another location last weekend. I learn to love Science more as it is Science and technology that allow us to enjoy such convenience.

Difference between an underground stem and underground root
